Caldwell Road Elementary

Our Logo

Our logo has a lot of symbolism to reflect our the different populations within  our school. The Mi'kmaq symbol for child represents all of our children within our school. The colors of the 4 corners of the compass show that we have students with varying heritages and backgrounds. The African Nova Scotian symbol for Umoja means Unity.   Together as a school we build a collaborative community. All of this is encompassed in a circle which is used as a symbol of unity and collaboration in many different cultures including being part of the Indigenous Ways of Knowing and being as well as part of the African Heritage. Our staff and students come together to be collaborative and problem solve.  We have beautiful and brilliant students and  staff here at Caldwell Road Elementary and are proud of each and every one of them!  Thank you to Brittany Pennell, HRCE Regional Coordinator of Mi'kmaw Education & Services, Paul Adams Jr (graphic designer), our SAC, our staff and our students for offering guidance in creating this logo.
